Hi Ate. Wow. You really write well. Do you have a Wordpress account? :)
Hey, thanks for that. Still have lots to improve but it’s nice to hear these sorts of compliments. I used to have one, it’s a music blog but I haven’t updated it for quite a long time now. Here it is: Thieves By Tuesday*
I want to go to med school and I have to choose subjects for my 2 last years of school and I am definitely going to take the maximum amount of biology and chemistry. I was wondering if you need physics for medical school, because I still don't know wether or not I should take physics as well. I also have to decide between 3 hours or 5 hours of maths. Do you have any advice? Thank you so much in advance.
The only advice I can give when it comes majors has always been to do what you love. To prove a point, on my interview, my grades were of critical point. The doctor who interviewed me was a pathologist and, if my Microbiology and Parasitology grades were less than perfect, I doubt if he would’ve given me a thumbs up. It wasn’t my favorite subject and thank God I fared well, or things would’ve blown apart. Yes, schools look for diversity, but if you do love physics, then go right ahead. And remember, diversity doesn’t have to come from odd majors.
Here in the Philippines, the med schools require a certain amount of units in Physics and Math (and so on) so you should probably look into the requirements of the prospective med school you plan to apply to in the future, just so you know you’re not missing any subjects. As early as now, you should make a list of the schools you plan to go. Sometimes some med schools have different affinities for subjects, so make sure you’re aware of what they want.
I’ve read a few med student blogs here in tumblr to know enough that “med schools don’t really care what you major in”. They take both traditional minded folks and students with diversified majors equally. And if you think you need to balance your subjects out, grab some minors in non-science subjects or participate in some extracurriculars that are non-science related. I did debate and some English classes and it can help distinguish you from other applicants. Not that the ability to write poetry ups your chances, but it will make you easier to remember.
Science majors will burn you out faster, but when you get to med school, it will help things go a little smoother for you on your first year. There’s the trade off.
To sum it all up, major in whatever you wanna major in, finish those pre-med pre-reqs, and enjoy the rest of your undergrad years!
how much was your tablet po?
Got it at Lazada, free shipping, less Php 2,000+ (Christmas sale) with a free Php 200 off voucher. I paid Php 3,490. The site also has tons of good deals right now. You might want to drop by!
Sure thing. Please don’t be shy to ask me questions! Do ask without resorting to anon, (I’d like to know who ACTUALLY follows my blog hehe).
can you post a picture using your tablet's camera? please =]
Hi. I can’t post because it’s still charging. I can tell you one thing though, the resolution really sucks. There’s zoom in and zoom out, there’s adjustments for white balance (like auto, incandescent, flourescent, daylight and etc, but absolutely no use since the camera quality is just BAD), there’s exposure setting but again—no use. The cam and it’s poor battery life (4-5 hrs for web surfing, ebook reading, movie watching, 12 hrs stand by) is probably one of this tablet’s disadvantages. You can’t shoot at dim areas, and even here at the house where we have decent lighting, it still sucks. I don’t need a decent cam, since I have a digital camera of my own and I can take the hassle of transferring the files and uploading them but if you like things instant, it’ll be a bit difficult for you. But man, the expandable memory (up to 32 gb), the fast response, the many apps, it’s handyness (very light in the hands), decent audio, easy to use tools—for me this tab is ACE. For the price I paid (3,200 Php and free shipping/ $ 64.00), I can’t ask for anything more. I don’t know how to compare the resolution (since I’m no techie gal), but I can say for sure, it’s VGA camera level. Hope that helps!
Is the cam on your tablet any good?
Nope it’s pretty bad. The cam is near the screen though so it’s good for those Skype sessions. If you want to get a tablet for it’s camera, I suggest you buy the expensive ones (iPad, Samsung Note/Galaxy tab series/Nexus).
Hi Miss Philippines. (loljk) If I'll ask you what were the 5 GREATEST films you've watched, what would them be?
Haha, Ms. Philippines my butt. My vital statistics is like that of Olive Oyl’s, except mine’s 30-30-30 (now that holidays is almost over).
Now for your question…. Well that’s a tough one! Here are my 5 films (I’m feeling like watching these all over again).
- Indie - [Tie] The Royal Tenenbaums / Bright Star
- Blockbuster - Any of the following franchises: Lord of the Rings / Harry Potter / Batman Dark Night
- Random - Tropic Thunder (I got a 6-pack after watcing this. The laughs I get are infinitesimally incomparable to other movies.)
- All-time favorite - Cidade de Deus (City of God)
- Romance - [Tie] Pride and Prejudice / Before Sunset
hello. can you do a review of your tablet? im planning to purchase a coby tablet too. does it have play store? or instagram and the likes? thanks a lot! this will be a very big help!
Sure, I’ll probably do one mid January 2013. I still have tons of exams to study for, so keep on dropping by the blog to know if I’ve posted it. :)
hey, is something bothering you?
Yeah, something. It’s sad when your being honest can push people away, even when your doing it for their own good. There’s no getting around the truth without hurting people. I knew I had to get over the bad part eventually, but not this soon. I hope all’s well that ends well.
Your music taste tastes good :)
Thanks! I always think of good music looking like this.
Your blog is fantastic! You seem legit as shit.
This was me before your message:
This is me now:
The key word is “seem.” Thanks :)
Thanks for following my Unka Glen blog! You rock the Tumblr. Thus, I'm following you back. Boom. That just happened.
This is the most amazing thing that’s happened to me in days. Unka Glen following me here on Tumblr! Wow. I feel all sorts of amazing.
So I just got The Fault In Our Stars by John Green from the library after a couple of months waiting. ITS A SIGNED COPY. SHOULD I KEEP IT, AND ATTEMPT TO PAY A FINE/FEE?
Hahaha, I love the way you think! I’ve never done something like that but maybe you want to do it the right way by first asking the librarian if supposedly “you borrowed a book that you loved so much that you want to buy it from the library (say it’s a rare find).” You may want to leave out the part that it’s a signed copy, since if they do allow you to buy the book, they might raise it to a few more bucks. If they won’t allow you to buy it, you could intentionally “fake-lose” it. Then pay them more than the usual price in gratitude of their understanding of your “recklessness and losing the book.” Oh my I’m such a bad influence. Okay I take it back! maybe you should just look for John Green’s address and send it over, asking him to sign it. It’s so old school, but it’s the right way to do. At the very least, your conscience is clear! :)
Why do you want so many things? Not that it's bad, I just notice that you do.
I know… I’m having a bad case of Pinterest-itis. It’s something that I’m trying to unlearn. Don’t you think it’s good that although I may want so many things, I never get the urge to actually get them? Do you see it? It’s a pretty awesome trait called restraint and tightwad-ness that I’ve inherited from my parents.
